Maintenance Tips for Artificial Turfs

Most homeowners prefer artificial grass fields due to their extended lifespan and aesthetics. It is also an ideal investment to improve a lawn space with long-lasting additions that require minimal maintenance.

Unlike natural grass, artificial turfs have unique upkeep needs. They aren’t susceptible to weeds or fungi but need protection from battering elements and wear & tear. Furthermore, it also requires some stain management when there are children and pets in a house.

Here are a few tips that help to maintain the quality look and feel of a turf.

Mild stains

When people use their lawn for entertainment, they may end up with a few food spills or coffee stains. These elements deteriorate the quality over time, and grasses will lose their natural hue.

One way to avoid this is through prompt cleaning to prevent any stubborn stain. Individuals can use dry absorbent or towels to wash spills.

Robust cleaning

More stubborn substances like motor oil, grease, or inks require a bit more work. The cleaning process is similar, but one would need household detergents or ammonia mixtures to rinse the spot with stains. If it doesn’t work, then they need to put some excess fluid and use rubber scrubbers.

Weed control

Even though weeds are limited on artificial turfs, they could have some unwanted growth underneath the surface. Therefore, use a weed filler to tackle this problem and ensure that they don’t resurface. To remove natural debris, they could also use this product on a regular basis.

More maintenance

As cited earlier, wear and tear can damage the looks, especially in high foot traffic areas. Depending on its use, regularly rinse and brush turfs to improve their lifespan. Such a routine cleaning ensures a quality-looking lawn for many years to come.
